Agreement
Special Agreement between ELVIS PRESLEY, knwon as artist, his guardians, Mr and/or Mrs. Presley, and his mangager, MR. BOB NEAL, of Memphis/Tennessee, hereinafter referred to as the party of the first part, and COL. THOMAS A. PARKER and/or HANK SNOW ATTRACTIONS of Madison, Tennessee, hereinafter known as the Party of the Second Part, this Date, Aufust 15, 1955.
COL. PARKER is to act as special adviser to ELVIS PRESLEY and BOB NEAL for the period of one year, and two one-year options for the sum of two thousend five hundred dollars ( $2,500,00) per year, payable in five payments of five houndred dollars ($500,00)each, to negotiate an assist in any way possible the build-up of ELVIS PRESLEY aqs an artist. Col. Parker will be reimbursed for any out-pocket expenses for travelling, promotion, advertising as approved by ELVIS PRESLEY and his manager.
As a special concession to Col. Parker, ELVIS PRESLEY is to play 100 personal appearances within one year for the special sum of $200,00 (two hunddred dollars) including his musicians.
In the event that negotiations come to a complete standstill and ELVIS PRESLEY and his manager and associates decide to freelance, it is understood that Col. Parker will be reimbursed for the time and expenses involvedin trying to negotiate the association of these parties and that he will have first call on a number of cities, as follows, at the special rate of one hundred seventy-five dollars ($175,00) per day for the first appearance and two hundred fifty dollars ($250,00) for the second appearance and three hundred fifty dollars($350,00) San Antonio, El Paso, Phoenix. Tucson, Albuquerque. Oklahoma City, Denver, Wichita Falls, Wichita, New Orleans, Mobile, Jacksonville, Pensacola, Tampa, Miami, Orlando. Charleston, Greenville, Spartanburg, Asheville, Knoxville, Roanoke, Richmond, Norfolk, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Newark, New York, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Omaha, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Des Moines, Los Angeles, Amarillo, Lubbock, Houston, Galveston, Corpus Christi, Las Vegas, Reno, Cleveland, Dayton, Akron and Columbus.
Col. Parker is to negotiate all renewals on existing contracts.
