            From this morning's "Rock Report":

AL JARDINE TO TEAM UP WITH BRIAN WILSON FOR UPCOMING CHARITY DATES

Founding Beach Boy Al Jardine says that he'll team up with the group's co-founder Brian Wilson for various live dates and maybe even some recording this year. Jardine told LAUNCH that he'll be on hand for some benefits that Wilson has already committed to: ["He's got some charity work this year, apparently he's got some events that he's invited me along to do something, I guess on that level, but not financially or anything like that. It more of a charity work. And then we might do a couple of recordings together, 'cause, y'know he still really enjoys my voice. He thinks I have a good voice."]

Jardine had previously announced that he and Wilson, along with the group's Mike Love and Bruce Johnston, are in the talking stages about teaming up for a reunion show in Britain next fall to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their Pet Sounds album.

Jardine, Wilson, and Love each contributed a new solo track to the recent Beach Boys live hits collection, titled Songs From Here And Back.

There's still no word as to where or when the joint Wilson-Jardine appearances will take place.

So far, Wilson only has two shows booked for the remainder of the year. Wilson's only U.S. date is set for on July 1st in Las Vegas at The Club in the Cannery Casinos. After that, his next show will be on July 23rd at Australia's "Splendor In The Grass Festival" at Belongil Fields at Byron Bay.

Jardine will team up with original Beach Boys guitarist David Marks along with Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean for the "Cruisin' With The Legends Of Surf Music" cruise, set for October 2nd through 6th.

THE BEACH BOYS TO REUNITE AT PLATINUM RECORD AWARD CEREMONY

Dieser Text kommt wo anders her. Ich versuche noch die Quelle rauszubekommen.

Brian, Mike, Dave, Al, & Bruce!!!

They said it would never happen; but all five surviving Beach Boys --
co-founders Brian Wilson, Mike Love, David Marks and Al Jardine, along
with longtime member Bruce Johnston -- will appear together on Tuesday
(June 13th), on the rooftop of Capitol Records' Los Angeles
headquarters. Co-founders Dennis and Carl Wilson died in 1983 and
                  1998, respectively.

The event, which commemorates the sales of over two million copies of
the group's hits compilation Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best Of The
Beach Boys, will mark the first time Wilson, Love, Jardine and
Johnston have appeared in public together in nearly a decade. In
addition to the group being awarded their platinum albums, Capitol
Records will be unveiling the artwork for a commemorative Beach Boys
anniversary CD and vinyl titles to be released later this year.

In a LAUNCH exclusive, Al Jardine said that the group has been amazed
by the album's unstoppable success: "We've been delighted and
surprised in the weekly sales figures and they're beyond
comprehension -- and they're showing no sign of slowing down!"

Jardine said that being with the guys on their old stomping grounds
just might be the thing needed to get them all to finally commit to
reforming: "We're going back to our roots. It is a reunion. It's a
                  beautiful thing."

When asked if the awards-ceremony would be a dry-run for a full scale
musical reunion Jardine said, "I sure hope so. The only reason we're
here is because we're sharing the music and love... And then the
lawyers came. An impressive offer (for a reunion) has been made. We
just need to sit down and agree to do it -- or not to. But that's what
                  we've already been doing (laughs)."

Founding Beach Boy David Marks told LAUNCH that the group's records
will never fall out of fashion: ["The Beach Boys actually symbolize a
happier time. People are drawn to it -- and continually drawn back to
it, because mainly people wanna feel good, and the music is just feel-
good music, what can I say? And it reminds everyone of happier times
too." SOUNDCUE (:16 OC:. . . happier times too)

Beach Boys historian Jon Stebbins told LAUNCH that, "It's nice to know
that David Marks is finally getting acknowledged for the hit records
he contributed to. Let's hope this type of goodwill is a signal that
Dennis Wilson's great unreleased music will finally see the light of
                  day."

Stebbins long awaited biography on Marks, titled The Lost Beach Boy is
due out later this year. In 2000, Stebbins published the definitive
biography on Dennis Wilson, titled The Real Beach Boy.

Es scheint zu stimmen, Bruce Johnston schreibt:

I'm flying to the Capitol Records event on Tuesday from Las Vegas and Mike Love will fly in from Reno. We will both ride together from Burbank airport to the awards ceremony. Also I'm really hoping that Dave Marks will be there.
FYI: Though I'm looking forward to being with Brian, Mike, Al and Dave, I'm positive that this will be the very last time any surviving Beach Boys will be in the same place at the same time.

Man lese :

                        From icebergradio.com:

Brian Wilson's daughter Carnie Wilson hopes that tomorrow's (June 13th) Beach Boys reunion in Los Angeles will lead the group members to reconcile and make some music together. The surviving band members, Brian Wilson, Mike Love, David Marks, Al Jardine, and Bruce Johnston, will all appear on top of the famous Capitol Records building to collect their platinum awards for sales of over 2 million copies of their greatest hits compilation, Sounds Of Summer: The Very Best Of The Beach Boys. Co-founders Dennis and Carl Wilson died in 1983 and 1998, respectively.

Carnie told us that she would love nothing more than to see all the surviving Beach Boys team up for a reunion tour: "I just don't like to get involved. I try to stay out of it because it's not my business. However; it's upsetting. The truth of the matter is I wish that all of the Beach Boys could just tour together. That's the ultimate wish of mine."

Over the years, Carnie and her sister Wendy have teamed up with Jardine, his sons Matthew and Adam, Cass Elliott's daughter Owen Elliott, and assorted Beach Boys sidemen from the group's '70s and '80s lineups to perform as Al Jardine's Beach Boys Family And Friends. Eventually a legal injunction forced them to stop using the "Beach Boys" name.

Wilson, Love, Jardine, and Johnston have not shared a stage together in nearly ten years. Wilson stopped performing with the band in 1996, and in 1998 Jardine was forced out of the group. Shortly thereafter, co-founder David Marks rejoined the band for several years.

Love and Johnston now hold the exclusive license to tour under the group's name. Wilson has performed as a solo artist since 1999, and Jardine and Marks have been teaming up for a growing number of concerts each year.

Jardine has told us that in addition to a possible reunion concert later this year in Britain to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the group's Pet Sounds album, "an impressive offer" has been put forth to the entire group to reunite.

The Beach Boys -- featuring Mike Love and Bruce Johnston -- will perform next on June 23rd in Kelseyville, California at the Konocti Harbor Resort & Spa. They'll be on tour through the end of September.

Brian Wilson will perform on July 1st in Las Vegas at The Club in the Cannery Casinos. After that, his next show will be on July 23rd at Australia's "Splendor In The Grass Festival" at Belongil Fields at Byron Bay.

Al Jardine and David Marks will join Dean Torrence of Jan & Dean for the "Cruisin' With The Legends Of Surf Music" cruise, set for October 2nd through 6th.
