elvis? nein! er hatte kein pilotenschein! er hatte piloten und stewardessen die ihn rund um die uhr zur verfügung standen.

Also in den Zeitungen wurde damals davon gesprochen, jedenfalls zwei Mal. Mein damaliger Mann und ich sparten schon auf Eintrittskarten. Wir erwarteten nicht, dass er nach Berlin käme, aber an London oder Paris dachten wir schon.

Was in den Zeitungen stand, ist Geschreibsel, weder Elvis noch sein Management erwägten jemals ernsthaft eine Tournee in Übersee zu organisieren - u. a. diente nämlich schon "Aloha from Hawaii via Satellite" als Ersatz für eben jene...

Bevor hier der erste Sülzkopf kommt mit: Sein Manager hat es ihm verboten, dann bitte ganz schnell still sein, denn erstens war Elvis kein untergeordneter Angestellter, sondern der Boss und zweitens hätte Elvis, wenn er es denn wirklich gewollt hätte, jederzeit seinen Manager mit den Formalitäten für den Aufbau einer entsprechenden Tournee in Übersee beauftragen können.

Dies wäre aber ein anderer Themenkomplex, deswegen Ende hier!

ich hab vor kúrzem ne mail von einer amerikanischen tausch-partnerin bekommen.. darin schreibt sie u.a.:

..Did you know that Elvis' jet The Hound Dog #1, still makes secret flights at night only??
No one has been able to catch how is in it..Makes you wonder doesn't it??
Not too many people know there is a Hound Dog #1..
They keep it in the hanger at the Memphis airport..Never seen during the day...

kann ich mir kaum vorstellen, denn "Hound Dog One" ist der Nickname von "The Lisa Marie" ...
und von der wissen wir ja, dass sie nicht mehr flugtauglich ist!

Und sowohl lt. Airlineworld als auch Airliners.net waren lediglich die Convair 880 (N880EP) und Jetstar (N777EP) in seinem Besitz.

mit welchen maschinen war El zwischen 1972 und 1975 - also vor dem kauf seiner beiden eigenen - unterwegs, wenn er auf tour war?
er wird ja kaum linie geflogen sein

So wie ich es verstehe gab es zumindest einen Vertrag für die 707. Der Fall war bis über Elvis Tod hinaus gerichtlich offen (lt. preslaw.net). Ob man die 707 nun zu Elvis Flugzeugen zählen kann ist daher fraglich ... manche würden es sicher so interpretieren.
Da er es aber selbst nicht genutzt hat, sehe ich das nicht so.

die moderne ausstattung der lisa marie ist ja auch ganz gut bei elvis by the presleys zu erkennen
