    Elvis In The Daily Mail

Daily Mail "Elvis" give-away sells 3 million copies: From Elvis Express in the UK: On Saturday 4th February 2006, the Daily Mail gave away a free copy of the 1957 Elvis Presley movie, 'Loving You'. In doing this, the UK newspaper recorded unprecedented sales of over 3 Million copies.

A great success that we are sure the Editor and board members are over the moon about! So how disappointing it is that just 2 days later, the same newspaper repays Elvis for giving them unprecedented
sales for their Saturday paper by starting a tabloid sensationalist series that appears to set out to dehumanise Elvis Presley. A series which includes comments like; "Dee supposedly said that Elvis (blah! blah! blah!) but then she was going through a messy divorce so things she said should be treat with cynicism".

But the reporter still goes on to say "he had sex with his mother" and then goes on to say "it must be rubbish".

This is, in my opinion, the worse kind of journalism there is. Shove in some scandal but at the same time say of course it isn't true. Including this stuff which has been dismissed by real investigations over the years is pure and simply an attempt to sell papers and at the same time detract from the real importance of
    Elvis Presley.

Because you just know that the words, "it must be rubbish" will be ignored by the general public and critics but the words "he had sex with his mother" will stay around for years to come and the journalist knows this only too well.

CALL FOR RECOGNITION: As it was Elvis Presley who brought sales figures of over 3 Million copies of the Daily Mail on Saturday 4th February, Elvis Express calls for all fans around the world to contact the editor of the Daily Mail and demand that the paper needs to show some respect and produce a special gold award in recognition of Elvis Presley and Loving You selling 3 Million copies of their Newspaper. Send your letters to the Daily Mail Editor: letters@dailymail.co.uk (News, Source: Elvis Express)
