Let's first explain the phenomenon "Matrix Recording".
A Matrix recording mix is a cunning mix of soundboard / multitrack recordings with audience recordings.
Sometimes soundboard recordings can sound dull. The main reason for this is that the sound engineer probably wanted to catch one particular aspect of the performance.
This can be the singing voice of the artist, or one of the instruments. These soundboard recordings can miss a lot of the ambiance that the spectators were experiencing.
An audience recording mostly never sounds dull but the quality of the singing voice of the artist is obviously of lesser sound quality. But mixing these two creates a whole new magic.

Was bedeutet hier Matrix?

Auf z.B. dieser Seite findest Du die CD-VÖ zu den Konzerten http://www.elvisconcerts.com/index.htm . Wenn es ein Konzert sowohl als Soundboard und AR gibt, kannst Du sie übereinander mischen, ist natürlich eine Tüftelei, denn Du brauchst die 100% gleiche Laufgeschwindigkeit. Das jeweilige Verhältnis der Lautstärken bestimmt dann, ob Du dem Soundboard mehr Publikumsatmosphäre verschaffst, oder beim AR Stimme und Band verstärkst. Diese Mischung nennt man Matrix-Recording.

Ja, ich finde auch. Ich hab mir das jetzt 'mal in kompletter Länge angehört. Das Publikum (AR) wurde hier wohl eher nur ganz dezent dazu gemischt.

"Though somewhat wanting in audience response and atmosphere (I rode the faders a little in-between tracks to compensate), the slightly incomplete audience track [only one channel was useable] had quite nice acoustic ambience that helped to prop up and expand the mono soundboard in a unified and more realistic sound not too dissimilar to the high-quality reel-to-reel recordings of February 1973."


Ich musste allerdings irgendwie den Umweg machen über die Startseite hier https://bittube.tv/profile/ALWAYS4ELVIS dann runterscrollen zum Video und anklicken https://bittube.tv/post/19c92174-2f8...f-461fc5c71e93 , sonst bekam ich keinen Ton. Liegt vielleicht an meinem Browser.

Habe ich schon öfters bei Bootlegs in den Ankündigungen gelesen.
Wollen wahrscheinlich ausdrücken, dass es keine CD-R ist.
Obwohl....bei Amazon gibt es "shiny CD-R " zu kaufen... nun weiß ich auch nicht.

Ich denke, es geht eher darum, dass den Herausgebern bewusst war, dass das Konzert als kostenloser Download inkl. Booklet/Artwork im FECC zur Verfügung stand. Wer speziell eine gepresste CD für die Sammlung haben möchte, nun, der bekommt sie hiermit. Bei dem sensationellen Klang kommt man auch direkt in Versuchung. Ein Sample im Anhang, hintereinander zunächst FTD, dann der neue Mix.

Doch, ja, ein hörbarer Unterschied.

Da wird dann ja wohl zukünftig noch so einiges neues Altes auf uns zukommen.
