This legendary album released in 1959 while Elvis was serving his time for the US Army in Germany, now features bonus tracks including RADIO and TV performances from the ‘50s and the quality highlights from the recently discovered Bad Nauheim German home recordings. Great performances from the Milton Berle Show, Stage Show and the Steve Allen Show are complemented by intimate recordings of Are You Lonesome Tonight, His Hand In Mine and He Knows What I Need. Released in 7” gatefold format it also contains a 16-page booklet. FOR LP FANS ONLY was nominated for best album art of 1959.

    Warum man hier schon wieder die Hayride Aufnahmen bringt kann ich nicht nachvollziehen. Die Ganze Zusammenstellung ist relativ schwach. Man hätte lieber mehr Material von den Bad Nauheim Tapes bringen sollen. Diese FTD kommt meiner Meinung nach gleich nach der FTD Hit's Of the 70s u. FTD Tickle Me was die Ausbeute des Songmaterials betrifft.

          Hayride hier, Hayride dort....das haben wir doch alles schon. Mich reißt diese Veröffentlichung nicht vom Hocker.

            Ist auch nur als Lückenfüller damit die Classic Alben komplett sind.

            Hatte mir auch mehr davon erwartet.

                      Ich habe mir jetzt die neue FTD angehört. Ich muss sagen ich hätte mir mehr von den Bad Nauheim Aufnahmen gewünscht. Der Sound ist für dieses Privatband relativ gut. Was mich stört ist man hat hier alle Dialoge weg geschnitten. So kommt es dass Elvis bei manchen Song noch einmal den Schluss singt aber jemand der das Org. Band nicht kennt kann nicht nachvollziehen warum jetzt noch einmal diese od. jene Stelle gespielt u. gesungen wird. Diese herum Schnipselei könnte man sich gerne sparen. So muss sich jeder Fan der diese Aufnahmen gerne im Org. hören möchte wieder eine Bootleg zulegen. Weil mit diesen wenigen Fragmenten hat keiner was angefangen.

                        Also müssen wir uns hier für die Privat Aufnahmen doch eine der beiden Bootleg Veröffentlichungen zulegen? Na gut, dass ich das schon vorreserviert habe beim HdV.

                          Der Rest sind gute alte Bekannte. Die Hayride Live Aufnahmen. Dorsey Shows, Milton Berle, Steve Allen Show usw. Also nichts was man nicht schon X mal im Regal stehen hat.

                              Wenn man die Bootlegs auch rechnet dann nichts Neues. Nicht einmal ein Ton.
                              Ohne Bootlegs natürlich die Bad Nauheim Aufnahmen u. das kurze Stück von Shake, Rattle And Roll von der Milton Berle Show vom April 56.
