Ich bin zu einer Zeit ins Musikgeschäft hineingeraten, als es keinen Trend gab. Die Leute waren auf der Suche nach etwas Anderem, und ich kam gerade zur rechten Zeit.

Es hiess doch mal wir enden die serie mit 10 oder 11

Gibt es dan noch wirklich was neues auf 8mm?

Trotzdem wird gekauft haha

Für mich als Nicht-Sammler ist die Serie gannz nett. Neu ist mit Sicherheit nicht alles, aber vielleicht in besserer Qualität. Wenn sie alles zusammentragen, was es auf 8MM (oder auch 16MM) gibt, hat man nachher eine auch optisch schöne Sammlung.

Ich schaue mir die nicht immer gründlich an. Zuviele Schnitte und auch nicht immer gutes Material und es ist mir auch nicht wichtig, ob Elvis bei Cotton Candy Land 74 den Arm öfter bewegt als 1975, aber für die private Jumpsuit-Liste brauchbar

Manche Clips gibt es auf den DVDs auch in schlechterer Qualität als fürher schonmal gehabt - stimmt tatsächlich
Der größte Teil aber ist natürlich okay, und manches schon besser als früher - aber wie auch bei anderen neuen Produkten ist viel künstlicher Hype dabei und sie können ja schon nicht mehr aufhören mit der Serie weil sie so gut läuft im Verkauf

Pyramid has already released 50 hours of footage, and this new volume contains three more hours, this time focusing on the period 1973 – 1976. There are so many cool and delightful moments, that it’s hard to pick them all out. ‘Steamroller Blues’ is one of the hottest versions ever, with Elvis striking a kick-ass karate pose right from the get-go, and a fan getting so excited that she virtually assaults him! Or another clip where Elvis looks with amazement as he asks the houselights to be turned up, and then commenting: “It’s a long way from Ellis Auditorium in Memphis, J.D.”, no doubt referring to the gospel shows that he attended as a youngster. There’s also various memorable moments in the ’75 footage, including a powerful version of ‘You Gave Me A Mountain’ with different phrasing.
The clips on this volume are long, and really give you the feel of being there at an Elvis show. There’s close-up footage from 1976 with Elvis in solid form. At one point he curls those famous lips, and he jokingly says that it’s like, “I have a fish hook in my mouth!”. This volume also documents the brief revival in late ’76, with Elvis looking slimmer and sounding really good. ‘Hurt’ is one of the highlights and cuts through the air like a razorblade! Pyramid takes pride in presenting these 8mm films as they were originally filmed, with the restoration focusing on respecting the history of these remarkable films, and not altering it. No edits, no cuts, no manipulations…. Just the real deal: the be-all, end-all record of the 8mm footage filmed during the concert years. Nachdem wir kürzlich schon bei Volume 18 (!) angekommen sind, wurde nun eine Neuauflage von Volume 1 angekündigt.
Die Neuauflage soll "newly restored" sein.

Die Kuh wird also weiter gemolken.

Von meinem hdv habe ich begriffen das es minimal 'restored' ist und sich nicht lohnt. Das artwork ist jetzt so gemacht wie die restlichen artworks der serie, wird bestimmt vol 2 auch restored und neues artwork.

Vol 19 soll in kürze angekündigt werden

Die einen finden es gut, die anderen wiederum finden es sch#+!?.
