LaughOut Loud!
I recommend this book toanyone who wants to learn how to laugh at themselves as they grow older...andthat's all of us! This book is filled with all kinds of zany stories abouttrying to make it in show business while being the opening act for ElvisPresley. Sammy's sense of humor is wild and crazy, whether it's about his kookyrelatives(and who doesn't have some of these), his sex life, or on a moreserious side, his ability to laugh at himself through all of life's ups anddowns. He includes stories about all of his friendships with the comedians ofthe '50s and '60s, including Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, and many others, and alsointerviews them. There's great political humor also. I laughed through he wholebook!
Thisbook will change your life.
In The Man Who Made ElvisLaugh, Sammy Shore uses a very creative way of writing to take the readerthrough his mind boggling life.
From his humble Chicagobeginnings through to the insane upside down world of professional comedy andhis time with Elvis Presley. This book is hands down one of the mostinteresting and best autobiographies I have read in a long time. I cancomfortably recommend The Man Who Made Elvis Laugh, based on the tremendousimpact it had on me personally. This book was written by true comedy legendthat continues to make a positive impact on the rest of the world with hishumor and his valuable insights.
Ahilarious book!
On the back of this bookthere is a question Who is Sammy Shore?
The answer. A funny comicwho worked with Elvis Presley and still works today and who reveals in thisbook through funny jokes and anecdotes not only what Elvis would double overlaughing at, but also what you and I would too. This a memoir of both trying tomake it in show business, with all the hard knocks along the way, and also oflife's great moments with family and friends (he's the father of Pauly Shore). If you want to learn how to see the glass half-full, read this book. There islaughter and meaning in it for everyone.
Wonderfulread. For all ages.
Sammy Shore has written anexquisitely funny book for people of all ages. "The Man Who Made ElvisLaugh" is a story from Sammy's childhood and his comedy career. SammyShore is probably best known for being the opening act for Elvis Presley... Hehas written a previous-autobiography called "The Warm Up"... He is afunny man and a wonderfully kind man. The pictures in this book are reflectiveas to the diverse range of entertainers Sammy Shore has worked with. Beprepared to laugh, cry and be entertained as the pages of The Man Who MadeElvis Laugh come to life. This is a book you will enjoy.
Insanelyfunny! Very entertaining.
I can see why the Kingloved Sammy, he is funny!
In The Man Who Made ElvisLaugh. Sammy leaves no stone unturned on what went on while he was opening forElvis Presley. The personal stories about the comedy business from hisperspective were also very enlightening.I would strongly recommend this book toanyone starting out in comedy along with anyone that wants to hear things aboutElvis that were previously not mentioned. My hat is off to Sammy for being ableto convey his story with such brilliance.
