A duet recorded by Ray Charles and Johnny Cash but never released is finally going to come out, 29 years after it was recorded.
In 1981, Cash and Charles recorded Kris Kristofferson’s ‘Why Me, Lord’ in Nashville.
The song was produced by Billy Sherrill and was meant to be released on an album for CBS Records in 1981 but was dropped from release for some unknown reason at the time.
The song will feature on an album of Ray Charles rarities titled ‘Rare Genius: The Undiscovered Masters’, to be released by Concord Records on October 26.
