IT´S TAHOE TIME
(Rainbow Records RR-19741013-2)

The „Rainbow Records“ label is going to release it´s second CD titled „It´s Tahoe Time“, containing a 50 minutes long performance of Elvis Presley´s Oct. 13th, 1974 Midnight Show at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel, Lake Tahoe.

Until today there has never been a CD release containing any of the eight performances of this much too little known of concert engagement at Lake Tahoe in autumn of 1974.

The recording of this show has been taken from an early generation (audience recorded) Cassette-Tape and it has been carefully worked on in a professional studio. So the Producers are able to present one of (only two until today known of) recorded performances of Elvis´ October 74 concert series at the Sahara Tahoe Hotel in good and listenable sound-quality, rounded off by a great 16-page booklet containing all necessary information regarding the October 74´ engagement at Lake Tahoe including a special report by a female fan who saw all eight shows (!!), written just a few days after this engagement was over.
By the way: At this show Elvis was wearing his then brandnew „Mexican Sundial“-Suit which he seemed to lock away after the short engagement was over - until 1977.

We believe that this is a very interesting performance. Elvis is in good mood and delivers a mixture of both his early and his later classics. Hear Elvis doing classy versions of songs like „It´s Midnight“, „Big Boss Man“, „I´m Leavin´“ and an impromptu version of „Lawdy Miss Clawdy“.

As a bonus you can hear James Burton playing his guitar and giving an impression of how it sounded when he was at his very peak – in 1973. The seven minute long „Music Makers“ – Special has been taken from the original ´73 Vinyl-Album „Guitar“ – a real rarity and a nice bonus for a real nice cd!
