No street for Colonel Parker in Holland
 

Although it has been 100 years since Colonel Parker was born in Holland, the city of Breda - birthplace of the Colonel, aka Andreas van Kuijk - sees no reason to honor him with "the Tom Parker Street". The official request was discussed this week, and rejected. One of the arguments against a "Tom Parker Street" is that the Colonel denied or at least tried to hide his Dutch roots for many years, he even changed his original Dutch name. Also, Colonel may have played an important role in the life of Elvis but he never prided himself with being a citizen of Breda and, consequently, he therefore never contributed to the history of the city.

vernünftige Entscheidung

Ich dachte, dass es schon feststand, dass eine Straße nach ihm benannt wurde.
Also wirklich hinein in die Kartoffeln und wieder heraus. Mir persönlich ist es egal.

Stand es nicht, achso weil irgentwann haben wir schon mal über eine Straße für den Colonel diskutiert, aber dann war das wohl nur rein fiktiv und ich hab es falsch verstanden.

Da würde diskutiert in breda.:grins:
