ELVIS - KNOXVILLE KNOCKOUT (1CD)

Recorded live at the UOT Stokely Arena, Knoxville, TN, April 8, 1972 Evening show
Our second new CD is titled "KNOXVILLE KNOCKOUT" (EPC 2019-23). Just as our first release, the Knoxville, TN, April 8, 1972 8:30 pm evening show is previously unreleased and moreover, it is completely a new show for all Elvis die-hard fans: again, never before in circulation, in any form! Interestingly enough, RCA was there to record, but their tape recorder malfunctioned. Now you can finally hear what RCA tried to record!!
This concert is taken from a recently discovered original audience recorded cassette tape. Unfortunately, "An American Trilogy" is incomplete, and it is possible that there's is one song missing, just before the "Can't Help Falling In Love" finale.
As we've come to expect from the April '72 shows, Elvis is in excellent form. And what a rare treat to finally get an audience recorded tape from this highly regarded tour! Elvis is firing on all cylinders. He knocks "How Great Thou Art" out of the ballpark. Wow, just wow!!
As usual, this CD is packaged in a nicely designed digipack with excerpts from a local press review and a collection of images taken on tour in April, 1972, including a couple of real, very rare Knoxville show shots.

Nicht schlecht und der Klang ist okay. Es ist auch tatsächlich die ES des Tages, weil Elvis erwähnt, sie hätten in der anderen Show - der AS - Soundprobleme gehabt.

Ja da bekommen wir in Kürze 2 neue Shows.

Vom selben Label kommt glaube ich noch eine weitere Show. Berichtet hier niemand mehr über sowas ?:noidea:

Klingt ähnlich wie die MS des Tages...wir können annehmen, dass beide Konzerte vom selben Fan aufgenommen wurden..

Jetzt war es eine Zeitlang relativ ruhig deshalb wurde es auch Zeit dass wieder mal neue Shows auftauchen.

Der Zeitungsbericht von der AS ist in Elvis Files Vol.6 Seite 161 abgedruckt.
Er ist im Gegensatz zum CD Booklet komplett.


Dort steht daß Elvis sagt: "Sorry I`m late,but I was building a sound system".


Das kann man auf der CD hören.


Nach "Polk Salad Annie" sagt Elvis "That woke me up anyway".
Auch ein Zeichen für die afternoon show


Ich habe einen Freund in Knoxville der alle shows dort gesehen hat.
Sein Name ist Dale Hampton.Er hat vor Jahren mal einen Katalog mit allen US-CD`s veröffentlicht.Titei "For CD Fans Only".

Dale hat mir mal den line-up von beiden Konzerten geschickt.


Die songs der Afternoon show die er mir schon vor 20 Jahren geschickt hat stimmem genau mit der "Knockout" überein.Die ES war anders.

Zudem hat er mir in einer email bestätigt daß es die afternoon show ist.
