In april 2012 a new book will be published on Elvis bootleg albums complete with colour photos about the record sleeves.

Curious to see how it will compare with the book "jailhouse rock":-)

Kompletter wirst du es nicht bekommen. Es sind eine Reihe namhafter Sammler beteiligt, die sich mit viel Aufwand zusammen getan haben und sehr, sehr gründlich recherchiert haben. Die Gestaltung des Buches liegt in professioneller Hand. Grammatische Abenteuer wie bei "Fashion For A King" sind ausgeschlossen. Ich denke, dass das Buch selbst für Nicht-Vinyl-Freaks eine sehr lohnenswerte Geschichte ist und in eine gutsortierte Elvis-Sammlung gehört.

Ja,so sehe ich es auch.Ich hatte einige male Kontakt mit den Machern dieses Buches u. die haben mir versichert dass auch der Text was den Inhalt der Bootlegs betrifft neu überarbeitet wurde.Bei dem Jailhouse Rock Buch sind sehr viele Fehler beinhaltet was die tatsächlichen Aufnahmedatums der Songs betrifft.Teilweise wurden die falschen Daten von den Plattenhüllen abgeschrieben bzw. wusste man es damals noch nicht besser.

Das Buch werde ich mir zulegen, wenngleich ich auch keine einzige LP mehr habe. Aber das sind schöne Erinnerungen. ..TOP..:top:

Stimmt, "complete" gibt es nicht, das ist unmöglich.
Mit ca 1.000 Entries ist das Buch aber sehr nah dran. :top:
