There is a solemn reception by the mayor, a parade in honor of Elvis and an official donation of $ 10,000 by Elvis to charity. Governor Coleman calls September 26 to "Elvis Presley Day". Regarding this event, Erik Lorentzen is currently working on the book 'Elvis At The Mississippi-Alabama Fair and Dairy Show Tupelo'. This year it is 60 years ago that the concerts took place in Tupelo.
