Welcome To The Jungle - Solitaire

Venus Productions will soon release a new CD, carrying you back in time, right into Elvis' den, known to everyone as the Jungle Room.
Welcome To The Jungle - Solitaire is a wonderful compilation of released and unreleased tracks recorded in February 1976. '' There was a man, a lonely man....'' is certainly a line the rock singer had on his mind during those early February winter nights behind Graceland's walls, and he felt Neil Sedaka's song could work very well for him. On this CD you can hear the progress from the very first take through the master take.
The following night Elvis seemed to enjoy himself while recording what would become the title of his very last album. The song Moody Blue had a very modern sound for early 1976, very disco-like and it had a fair amount of air play all over the USA in late 1976 and early 1977. Elvis is clearly having fun recording this number, yet he ignored to include it into his live appearances, excepted for a brief attempt on February 20, 1977 and finally had a go at it the next night for his first and only performance .
The excellent sound quality will bring you right into the action that happened in the jungle room when those songs were being recorded. The CD will be presented to you in a standard jewel case, completed with a beautiful 16 page booklet.

Hört sich klasse an, hoffentlich ist der Sound mindestens so gut wie die letzte Release von Venus

Holla, das hört sich ja wieder mal sehr vielversprechend an ... Venus bürgt ja für Qualität.

Ähm, ich bin sicher der Letzte, der voreilig Kritik übt, aber ich hoffe, dass dies nicht unbedingt der letzte Cover-Entwurf ist, weil Jungle Room Sessions und Live-Bild passt nun mal so gar nicht zusammen

ich finde es auch nicht wirklich hübsch...
aber ich versteh die idee dahinter.
schriftzüge von titel und untertitel wie bei der From EP BLVD LP
und foto in ähnlicher pose... hatten wir auch im On Tour 75 Buch bereits abgedruckt den shot, wenn ich mich nicht irre....
somit hat der gute Mann also erneut (wie bei den vorherigen Releases) Bilder geklaut... bin gespannt ob er credit gibt...

Komm, King77, mach mal eben in maximal 3 Sätzen kurz eine Ansage, ob da für den geneigten Aficionado irgendwas "neues" drauf ist.

Ist unsere Datenbank hier korrekt, dann ist von Solitaire lediglich Take 3 und 7 bislang erhältlich. In Sachen Moody Blue triift das nur auf Take 3-7 zu. (Beide male exclusive Mastertake)
Heisst, dass auf obiger CD bis auf 2 Takes von Solitaire alles unveröffentlichtes Zeugs ist. Richtig?

Ich denke, es ist eine Alternativ-Version des Album-Covers.

es gibt keine alternativ versionen von covern
man versucht höchstens eine angleichung bzw. stilelemente nachzuahmen.

das, was Tunzi immer als alternate cover ausgibt, ist "verarsche"... Ed Bonja sagte, dass der Col. immer gesagt hat... ok, das bild nehmen wir.. und dann wurde es genommen, minimale änderungen am layout (schrift, platzierung des titels gab es danach noch) aber das ding war immer eine entscheidung von wenigen minuten.

Ich versteh natürlich den Grundgedanken dahinter, trotzdem gefällt mir das Live-Bild im Zusammenhang mit den "Wohnzimmeraufnahmen" nicht wirklich - passt einfach nicht.

Aber egal, Hauptsache wir kriegen unveröffentlichtes Material, noch dazu aus dem Jungle Room

Es ist aber auch schwierig da ein passendes Bild zu finden. Von der Session habe ich noch nie ein Foto gesehen. Gibt ja so ein Foto von ihm bei dem er auf dem Sofa sitzt mit ner Gitarre. Aber das ist aus den 60er Jahren. Also auch blöd weil zeitlich so weit weg. Fotosessions gabs in den 70er Jahren nicht mehr. Sollte es dann wohl ein Candid sein?

Mir selbst gefällt das Cover aber auch irgendwie nicht. Wäre also auch nicht traurig drum wenn es noch grundlegend geändert werden würde.

Moody Blue- Take 3,4,8 u. 9 sind neu.
Solidaire- Take 1,2,6,8,9 u. 10 hatten wir noch nie.
Auch Moody Blue der Mastertake ohne OD dürfte interessant sein.Den haben wir zwar schon auf der More Pure Elvis dort läuft er zu langsam u. Among Friends auf dieser Cd ist der Rauschpegel kaum zu ertragen.
