ja, dank Michael Grays wunderbarer "Bob Dylan"-Encyclopedia weiss man alle Details: "Bob Dylan's direct connection with Prine came in 1972, when Dylan was scuffing around avoiding doing anything much in his own right. Prine was playing a solo gig at the Bitter End in the Village that September 9th and Dylan came quietly on stage, unannounced—and from Prine's point of view, somewhat disconcertingly, perhaps—and played harmonica and sang back-up vocals on three numbers. There is no circulating tape (perhaps none extant) of this performance, and the first song Dylan augmented remains unidentified; then came ‘Donald and Lydia' and finally ‘Sam Stone'. What a gig to have caught."

hätt ich mir doch auch kaufen sollen, den ziegel, anstatt mir nur die cd-rom zu kopieren...
ich hab michael gray mal in plankenstein bei einem dylan fest kennengelernt. guter mann. und ein großer blues und rock&roll fan. das elviskapitel in seiner encyclopedia geht auch voll in ordnung.

den empfehlenswerten ziegel (mit cd-rom) gab's / gibt's bei amazon.com viel günstiger als bei amazon.de: 25$ glaub' ich.

John Prine: I gave Dylan one of the first pressings of the record. Two weeks later I played my first gig ever outside of Chicago. I was playing with David Bromberg and Steve Burgh and [Steve] Goodman, but I needed a harmonica player. I asked If there was anyone around. Now, this is only my second night, and Dylan comes up. He had brought a harmonica and learned the words to all the choruses of my songs. I introduced Dylan, and about two people were clapping. No one believed it. They thought Dylan was either dead or on Mount Fuji.“ (Clinton Heylin. Bob Dylan. Behind the Shades. p.335p.)

Wirklich kein Grund zum Schämen. "God works in wondrous ways" singt Loudon Wainwright in "Red Guitar".

Prine zu "Ka Idee" gewandeltes Lied ist - wie ich sehe - auf Kurt Ostbahn "1/2 so wüd" zu hören. Übrigens hat KO mit "Da Dings" (auf "A blede Gschicht ... oba uns is Wuascht!") und "Da Quöla" (CD-Single Bonus Track von "Erschte Klass") auch Wainwright gecovert.

Ja. - John Prine hat berichtet, wie er den Mitschnitt von Dylans Rom-Auftritt bekommen und His Bobness davon erzählt hat:

"It's the only defense some people have. As long as you got somebody to look down on, you ain't on the bottom. So cold. I have a tape a kid gave me at a radio show last year. I came out to the parking lot after the show, and there was the usual crowd. This mailman walked up to me and whispers, "You want to hear a tape of Bob Dylan doing one of your songs?" I said, "Sure!" He hands me a tape from Rome, Italy, with Dylan doing about 30 Dylan songs and "People Puttin' People Down." Great version too. Incredible. So I saw Dylan last year and told him about this tape. And he goes, "Where did you get it? Where'd you get it?" I told him a mailman gave it to me. I'm sure he believed that." ~John Prine
