Vera Tschechowa (eigentlich Vera Rust) (* 22. Juli 1940 in Berlin) ist eine deutsche Schauspielerin, Regisseurin und Produzentin.


Mit Vera Tschechowa wird Elvis eine kurze Romanze nachgesagt.

Elvis traf sich mit ihr in München und verbrachte oft seine Freizeit mit ihr, in dem sie Bootstouren auf dem Starnberger See unternahmen oder die Bavaria-Filmstudios besuchten.


Übernachtet haben Elvis und seine Kumpels häufig bei den Eltern von Vera Tschechova in der Freseniusstraße in Obermenzing. Bei späteren heimlichen München-Besuchen stieg Elvis standesgemäß im Bayerischen Hof ab.

Irgendwie ähnelt sie Christine Kaufmann, oder? :gruebel:

Interessant ist, dass die Vera heute in Interviews recht ungehalten auf Fragen nach Elvis reagiert, und dann behauptet, man habe sich nur kurz und oberflächlich getroffen um Pressefotos zu machen. Und Elvis habe auf sie keinen besonderen Eindruck gemacht. Wenn man dann aber das Fotomaterial betrachtet einschließlich der nicht offiziellen, und die unterschiedlichen Orte und Daten, so kommt man nicht umhin zu argwöhnen, dass sie nicht so ganz die Wahrheit spricht.

? When did you meet Elvis Presley? How did he come to Munich?

Vera: Oh,I think we have to bridle up the horse in another way.It was an eternally long time ago when I went together with a photographer by train to Friedberg to pose with Elvis in fan photographs for the magazine "Confidential".
The plan was that Elvis should not fall in oblivion,so it was just publicity when he went to visit a family,giving presents to their children that was bound to a wheel-chair.And so on whit these sentimental feelings.
And somehow they were missing a woman to be used like parsley or like trimming and then they spoke with my agency, saying :Vera Tschechowa is the one we need.
She had just done a movie with Americans backing her.And so I went together with the photographer to Friedberg and we posed with this family in front of the barracks.We took these horrible photographs.Later,a journalist from Hamburg showed me the article: what terrible trash.This child bound to a wheel-chair,and Elvis standing with the child.I was somewhere with the nervous parents.How awful!!!
Up there I talked a little bit with him,not much except a few sentences.Weeks later on,at that time I played theatre in Munich...

? You still know what and where???

Vera: No,some shit I even can´t remember what it was.The theatre doesn´t exist anymore,it was called "Theater unter den Arkaden"It was located in the Maximillianstrasse,a real small boulevard theatre.And then he appeared in Munich,that means he called up my mother and said: " I would like to go in the theatre.She answered :You can´t understand anything because of the language.He said : That´s all the same to me.So he hired the whole theatre and came together with his two,fat and nasty bodyguards.First I thought,that´s a miserable frequentation today with only three person in front of the stage.
Ok, in that way Elvis came to Munich

?: Am I right that he especially came to Munich because of you???

Vera: I would say it was like that the first time,until the moment he got kicked out of our house.After that everything was ok and he never came back.

?: What kind of Kick-out???

Vera: After he had bothered our animals,canaries,dogs and cats long enough my mother said to him :Now you better leave-there is the door!Bye!

? : Did that all happen on the same day when you were together in the "Moulin Rouge"???

Vera: It was the day or the following one,I don´t know exactly because he stayed one and a half days.In any case,he came the next morning to have breakfast with us in Munich-Obermenzing.He had bits of tinsel everywhere,in his hairs and his eyebrows.I asked him what happened and he only said:I stayed there.I also remember having a meal with him after the theatre.There is a really nice and expensive restaurant in the Maximillianstrasse, the "Kanne".That´s where I went together with my mother,the fat guys and him for dinner.

?: What sort of guys were the bodyguards???

Vera: I can´t remember their names.They were standing around him like walls and I have to say that they were really ordinary,with belching and Fooling and everything that belongs to it.

?: Were his bodyguards also included in his private living spaces???

Vera: I believe that he never went without them even to the toilet.I believe also,that he was incredibly shy,a typical American middle class boy,well-bred with a crease-no hooligan at all,a real American middle class kid.

? : You saw Elvis Presley later on???

Vera: No,including the shooting I saw him three times.

In Careless Love wird auch erwähnt, dass Veras 65 Fanclubs gegen das Bündnis mit diesem ungehobelten Amerikaner protestierten. Vielleicht möchte sie ihre Fans ja nicht enttäuschen und steht auch noch 50 Jahre später dazu, dass sie ihn wirklich nur 3 Mal getroffen hat und natürlich nur zu offiziellen Terminen ;-) :grins:

Kann gut sein dass sie mal Fans hatte. Aber witzig ist doch, dass heute keiner mehr von ihr reden würde, wenn sie nicht mal Elvis getroffen hätte.

Das würde auch erklären warum sie so ungehalten auf das Thema Elvis reagiert. :grins:

Sie sollte ruhig ein bißchen dankbar sein. Denn so wird sie in Elvis-Fan-Kreisen immer als die geile Kurzzeit-Soldatenbraut unvergessen bleiben.
